About Me

My name is Christopher Williams, and you can go by Chris or Christopher.

I’m a Captain (O-3) in the United States Space Force with a TS/SCI clearance and a Master of Science in Space Studies from the University of North Dakota. My career has been focused on Space Operations, managing complex high-value systems, and leading teams in high-stakes environments.

🛰️ Military Service

I’ve had the privilege of serving at three distinct installations, ranging from the high Arctic of Greenland to the deserts of New Mexico.

Role Installation Location
Mission Director & Flight Commander ADF-Southwest Las Cruces, NM
Crew Commander & Mission Assurance 12th Space Warning Squadron Pituffik SB, Greenland
Space Operations Trainee 533rd Training Squadron Vandenberg SFB, CA

Current Role

I currently serve as a Mission Director and Flight Commander, responsible for the operation and safety of a multi-billion dollar asset. This role demands precision leadership, rapid problem-solving, and the ability to manage complex operational workflows under pressure.

Prior Experience

Before my current assignment, I served in Greenland at 12 SWS, where I:

  • Served as Crew Commander, operating the UEWR Radar.
  • Acted as Mission Assurance Commander, ensuring maintenance and upgrade operations were executed flawlessly.
  • Served as the Contracting Officers’ Representative (COR) for the SSPARS contract.

Previous Assignment

Before Greenland, I was stationed at the 533rd TRS, a Training Squadron at Vandenberg Space Force Base, where I honed the foundational skills necessary for high-level space operations.

🛠️ Technical Expertise

Beyond military service, I’m deeply passionate about technology and infrastructure. I run a personal homelab where I build and manage:

  • Linux Administration (Debian, CachyOS, Ubuntu)
  • Containerization (Docker, Docker Compose, Proxmox VMs)
  • Network Architecture (Nginx Reverse Proxies, Tailscale)
  • Self-Hosted Services (AI Inference nodes, Git repositories, Personal Websites)

I love the process of taking raw hardware and turning it into a secure, efficient, and functional system. I’m currently expanding my skillset into Cyber Operations and Cloud Engineering.

🚀 What’s Next

I am currently serving my final year of active duty and planning to separate in June 2027.

My goal is to transition into the Air Force Reserve as a cyber officer (17D/17S), leveraging my security clearance and operational background in a more technical capacity. To prepare, I am actively studying for my Security+ certification and building out my technical portfolio.

🌲 Beyond the Screen

When I’m not working, I’m usually:

  • 🏃‍♂️ Working out or going for a run
  • 🐕 Spending time with my dogs: Ruby, a Golden Doodle, and Zia, an Australian Cattle Dog who keeps me on my toes
  • 🏡 Homelab tinkerer: Always optimizing, upgrading, and documenting
